After looking for nearly 2 years, we finally bought an RV! We’d like to introduce YOU to our new addition. Meet Shasta!
Rather than buy a new RV, we decided to buy an older, inexpensive RV to help us explore our own lifestyle needs without making a big financial investment. Here were our requirements going into the search:
- Low mileage Class C in good working order without any soft spots
- Preferred length of 24′ for optimal campsite access
- Functional kitchen with stove top, oven, sink and counter space
- Appointed bathroom with toilet, sink, shower and storage
- Comfortable dinette, couch & sleeping area
- Fully enclosed unit without slides
- Enough storage to accommodate needs for extensive travel
- Smoke and mold free interior
We looked at a lot of rigs before we finally found our Shasta. At 23 feet long, Shasta is a 1996 Shasta Sprite Class C motorhome on a Ford E350 Cutaway Chassis. Her kitchen is well appointed with an oven, stove top, microwave, sink, counter space and plenty of storage. A large double bed sits above the cockpit and both the dinette and couch convert to additional sleeping quarters for guests. At the rear of the cabin, you’ll find a fully functional bathroom complete with toilet, shower, sink and plenty of storage.
To get the best possible deal, we started shopping for our rig in earnest on Craigslist during the off season. Our hands practically froze while inspecting her outdoors in the dead of winter! With that said, we landed a great deal. She’s worth every penny we paid for her and more.
We’re excited to introduce you to Shasta. We can’t wait to shake her down this Spring!
