I strongly prefer mirrorless cameras to traditional DSLRs. Mirrorless cameras are small, lightweight and easy to handle without sacrificing image quality. When you’re carrying a backpack, every ounce matters! After using my Olympus PEN EPL-5 mirrorless camera for years, I decided it was time to upgrade. I chose the Olympus OMD EM-1 Mark II!
Given the context of most of my shoots, I appreciate the fully enclosed, weather-resistant exterior. I also love having an onboard viewfinder, and a screen that flips forward. Plus, it shoots 4K video! So far, I am loving this camera. Even with my small hands, this camera fits nicely thanks to the grip design.
The Olympus OMD EM-1 Mark II does have the new 20.4 Megapixel Live MOS Sensor. It also has a serious image processor–the new TruePic VIII Dual Quad Core. It shoots at 60 frames per second S-AF. Beyond this, you’ll find 121-Point Dual Fast AF with Cross-Type On-Chip Phase Detection focusing.
